Watchen Marie, Founder & Principal Consultant
Behind Polished Pen is Watchen Marshall-Campbell, MPA - a writer, consultant, and public service professional with a gift for turning big ideas, scattered thoughts, and half-formed plans into language that is clear, compelling, and ready for the right opportunity.
With more than 15 years of experience supporting nonprofits, small businesses, entrepreneurs, and community-based organizations, Watchen brings both the big-picture thinking and the practical structure clients need to move forward. Her background spans grant writing, proposal development, contracting, program strategy, capacity-building, technical assistance, and funding readiness.
Through Polished Pen Writing & Consulting, she helps clients clarify what they need, organize what they have, and develop the materials required to pursue grants, RFPs, sponsorships, contracts, certifications, partnerships, and growth opportunities.
Watchen holds a Master of Public Administration from Hamline University, a Project Management Certificate, and is a trained facilitator. But beyond the credentials, clients value her ability to listen closely, ask the right questions, make sense of the details, and turn the work into something polished, aligned, and ready to move forward.
When she’s not knee deep in shaping grant narratives, proposal responses, or helping clients build sponsorship strategies, Watchen is likely planning her next trip, exploring a new country, indulging in self-care, and encouraging others to do the same — because she believes health is wealth, and wellness and ambition can coexist.
